Jeepers Creepers 3 is an American horror film from 2017, the plot between Jeepers Creepers (2001) and Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003). As in the first two parts, the screenplay was written and directed by Victor Salva . As before, the film was produced by Francis Ford Coppola's company American Zoetrope for the US film company United Artists .
As a one-off event, the film was shown in selected cinemas in the USA on September 26th and October 4th, 2017 . The film was released in Germany on March 23rd on DVD or Blu-Ray.

The film begins with a shuriken (throwing star) flying through the air and hitting a wooden pole while a man runs for his life. When the man reaches the street, the creeper suddenly falls from the sky and flies away with him, while another man watches this from his truck. When he gets out to investigate, he looks up and sees a severed hand fall from the sky.
23 years later, a short time after the events of the first film , the police discovered the creeper's truck, which was abandoned and filled with corpses, in the middle of town. The truck is equipped with several traps, such as bolts that stick out from the rear of the vehicle or a spear that shoots out of the exhaust pipe. When Sheriff Dan Tashtego arrives, Sergeant Davis Tubbs tells him what happened and Tashtego informs him that the creeper has been up to mischief for thousands of years and must be stopped. Then they hurry back to retrieve the creeper's truck after learning that it is on its way to the parking area.
As Frank and Deputy Lang transport the vehicle, the creeper lands on the tow truck and cuts the tether. Then they watch how the truck seems to drive away by itself while the creeper stands on it. As the truck turns around, the creeper lands on Frank and kidnaps him, while Lang, rigid with fear, points her gun at him. The next day, Gaylen Brandon has a vision of their son Kenny, who was killed by the Creeper 23 years ago. He warns her that the creeper will be back soon to uncover something buried on the property and that he will kill everyone who is there, including her and her granddaughter Addison.
Meanwhile, Sergeant Tubbs is informed by Tashtego that he has put together a small team to hunt down the creeper and kill him once and for all. A little later, a group of young people discovers the creeper's truck in a field. After finding the bodies, they run off on their motorcycles, but one of them, Kirk, is speared in the leg. When two of the boys try in vain to free him, the creeper appears and kills them both with another spear. The remaining boy (Kirk) is kidnapped by the creeper for peeing on his truck.
Meanwhile, Addison drives into town to buy straw for her horse. When she can't pay her friend Buddy helps her out and then they both drive to a plantation to deliver more hay. There they find the owner and a couple of men who are hiding under cars, but before they can get help, the creeper kidnaps Addison and leaves Buddy traumatized.
Gaylen finds a sack with the creeper's severed hand buried in her front yard and when she touches it, she falls into a hypnotic state. When Tashtego and Tubbs arrive with the team, she reveals to them that the hand holds secrets about the creeper's origin. Tashtego decides to grab his hand to find a possible way to kill the creeper. Addison wakes up with Kirk in the creeper's truck and together they try to find a way out of it. When Kirk reaches for the door handle, a spear shoots out of the driver's seat and impales his head.
Meanwhile, Tashtego and Tubbs have tracked down the whereabouts of the creeper and they set out to look for him together with Michael (who has a machine gun mounted on the roof of his car). They find the Creeper driving his truck on the highway, but when they shoot him, the bullet reflects off his vehicle and kills Michael. A small explosive device then detaches from the floor of the truck and explodes under Tashtego and Tubbs' vehicle, which ends up in a field. Tubbs gets out and shoots the Creeper, but all attempts fail. Before Tubbs is killed by the creeper, Tashtego calls for him and the creeper pounces on him instead. While the creeper is jumping in the air, Tashtego shoots him several times with the machine gun, but the bullets have no effect. He is thrown to the ground and killed in the head by an ax. After the creeper gets up he telekinesis removes his ax from Tashtego's head and walks away while Tubbs watches him from a distance.
That night, the creeper discovers that Addison is still alive. Before he can kill her, she triggers the spear, which shoots from the driver's seat and impales his head. She tries to escape quickly and runs through a field. Unable to run or fly, the creeper throws his spear at her and narrowly misses her. He is then hit by a truck and Addison runs away. When the driver gets out to see what happened, he is killed by the creeper. Addison runs and hides in a field where she is found by Gaylen and Buddy and the three of them drive back together. Then the creeper returns to Gaylen's house, where he finds a sign that says “We know what you are” with his hand and he roars in anger.
The next day, Addison says goodbye to Buddy when he gets on the same bus for a high school basketball game that is attacked by the creeper in the second film . 23 years later, Trish Jenner is seen writing a letter on her computer. She calls on the people to fight the Creeper when he returns and she vows revenge for the death of her brother Darry.

The world premiere was supposed to take place on September 13, 2017 at the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles , the premiere was postponed to September 26, 2017 after protests against director Victor Salva . Salva had sexually abused his child actor on his directorial debut in the 1989 film Clownhouse and videotaped it , which resulted in him being sentenced to five years in prison. Salva was released early after 15 months for good conduct.
The film was supposed to be finished long ago, but Victor Salva was unable to find a film studio that wanted to produce the film, which is why production was delayed. However, Salva insists that Jeepers Creepers shouldn't be left out of two films. Jeepers Creepers 3 will be the first in the series to use 3D technology.
Victor Salva emphasized that this film is intended to bring together characters from the first two films. Therefore you will see many old faces from the two previous parts again.
The film grossed around US $ 2.1 million on September 26 and October 4, 2017.
