Michael Ohoven (born August 30, 1974 in Düsseldorf ) is a German film producer . In 2006 he was nominated for an Oscar for his work on the film Capote .

Life

Ohoven was born in 1974 as the son of banker Mario Ohoven and UNESCO special ambassador Ute-Henriette Ohoven ; Chiara Ohoven is his younger sister. After graduating from high school and doing an apprenticeship at Commerzbank , he studied business administration at the University of Cologne . During his studies, Ohoven joined RTL in 1997 under Helmut Thoma . In 2000 he founded the production company Infinity Media , with which he was able to realize numerous projects.

The most famous films in which Ohoven took part include Evelyn with Pierce Brosnan , Quicksand - Caught in the Quicksand or The Human Blemish with Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman in the leading roles.

For the film Capote by director Bennett Miller , for which Philip Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar for Best Actor, Ohoven was also nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Picture at the 2006 Academy Awards, along with William Vince and Caroline Baron . Ohoven received other nominations for this film at the BAFTA Awards , the Independent Spirit Awards and the PGA Awards . At the Leo Awards , Capote won the award for best production in the Drama category.

Michael Ohoven is married to the Puerto Rican actress Joyce Giraud . They are the parents of two sons.
