William Vince

William Vince (born November 23, 1963 in British Columbia , † June 21, 2008 in Vancouver ) was an Oscar-nominated Canadian film producer .

biography

Career

Vince first produced a film in 1992 that was called Cafe Romeo . A previously known film was New York Killer - The Art of Killing . Vince received the Genie Award for Air Bud . After the turn of the millennium, he was regularly nominated for prizes for his films, and was nominated three times for the Leo Award . A particularly successful film turned out to be Capote , which was released in cinemas in 2005. The following year he was even nominated for an Oscar . Vince himself received four nominations and one award for his work on the film Capote. His last two films that he produced were Push and The Dr. Parnassus , both of which appeared in 2009. However, Vince died in the summer of 2008 from a sarcoma . The cabinet of Dr. Parnassus was dedicated to him posthumously alongside Heath Ledger, who also died during filming .

Private

Vince was married to Cynthia Miles and had three children with her. Not only Vince, but also his brother Robert Vince is active in the film industry, as a director and also as a producer.
