Chiara Henriette Madeleine Bernadette Margrete Ohoven (born March 18, 1985 in Düsseldorf ) is a German It-Girl and studied fashion designer . Due to the status and prominence of her parents Mario and Ute-Henriette Ohoven , she became known as the so-called Society daughter and was received above all in the tabloid media .

Life

Chiara Ohoven was born in 1985 as the daughter of the investment advisor and later BVMW President Mario Ohoven and the UNESCO ambassador Ute-Henriette Ohoven . She attended a Waldorf school and then for three years the boarding school on the Rosenberg in St. Gallen , Switzerland , from which she graduated with the American high school diploma . In 2004 she began studying fashion design in the textile and clothing technology department at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld , which she completed in 2009.

In 2002 Ohoven had a small supporting role in the thriller Liberty Stands Still, produced by her father and brother Michael Ohoven , among others . She supports her mother in organizing her charity events; In addition, she appeared several times on television, for example as a talk guest at Menschen bei Maischberger , Johannes B. Kerner , Menschen der Woche or the Kölner Treff . She was also a guest at The Dome , and she co-hosted the 2005 German edition of Top of the Pops .

In August 2005 Ohoven took over the gossip column in the picture for two weeks as a vacation replacement for Christiane Hoffmann . In 2006 she and her mother were named Celebrity of the Year by a jury of tabloid journalists . In 2010 she hosted an episode of the program Red! Stars, Lifestyle & More from Los Angeles . Since 2013 Chiara Ohoven has been working as art director for the magazine Der Mittelstand. , the membership magazine of the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Businesses run by her father. In 2015, she and her mother attended The Perfect Celebrity Dinner . In 2017 she took part as a candidate in the 10th season of the dance show Let's Dance and danced with Vadim Garbuzov ; the couple eliminated in the 2nd round.

reception

Ohoven first attracted attention in 2002, when she had apparently had her lips “ injected ” at the age of seventeen . Since she denied the intervention in a short interview with the program Exclusiv - Das Starmagazin , a series of parodies by Stefan Raab in his program TV total and by Carolin Kebekus at Schmidt & Pocher followed . In 2005, Ohoven withdrew her previous denial and spoke in retrospect of a mistake. On the talk show by Johannes B. Kerner , she reported that she had repeatedly sprayed her lips with hyaluronic acid because she was not satisfied with the surgeon's previous result. During Ohoven's brief takeover of the Bild gossip column in the summer of the same year, the column bore the self-deprecating title "Chiara Ohoven - I risk a thick lip".

In 2009, the aesthetic surgeon Werner Mang dealt with her in his book Verlogene Schönheit and asked: “Why does she do this? And why is she making herself a mockery of society? ”The author Katja Kullmann found in the feminist magazine Emma :“ Poor Blondie. Chiara O. will remain the girl with the big lip for a lifetime, no matter what charity she may do. With her, the caricature of artificial body design has carved itself into the public consciousness, as a caricature of a desperately inflated F *** - me aesthetic. "

Over the years, Chiara Ohoven became the symbol of the overly enlarged lips. She was mentioned in numerous articles in magazines and popular literature books. Words like Duffy Duck or rubber dinghy lips were used , whereby she was still referred to as an It Girl or "German Paris Hilton ". In a later double interview with her mother in 2012, Ohoven herself replied that she was haunted by the "upper lip issue" until old age, which she saw as a mistake and her mother as "probably the biggest slip in her life" designated.
