Horst Dittmann

Horst Dittmann (born June 4, 1943 in Breslau , Silesia ) is a German dancer .

Life

Horst Dittmann grew up in Greiz and actually wanted to be an architect . A ballet teacher in Greiz noticed his dancing talent and she sent him to the Leipzig Opera Ballet School for the entrance exam . After passing the entrance exam, he completed a four-year training course as a stage dancer . After completing his studies, he was engaged at the Leipzig Opera until 1979, where he worked with Ursula Cain and Siegfried Prölß under choreographers such as Emmy Köhler Richter . Horst Dittmann then completed a pottery apprenticeship , was accepted into the Association of Fine Artists of the GDR and worked as a freelance artisan in Leipzig until the fall of the Wall . From 1992 Horst Dittmann worked as a social worker in various institutions in the city of Leipzig .

2005 Horst Dittmann experienced at Heike Hennig his stage & Co comeback . Under the direction of the Leipzig choreographer Heike Hennig and her manager and sponsor Friedrich U. Minkus, Horst Dittmann worked with the dancers Ursula Cain , Christa Franze and Siegfried Prölß on the autobiographical dance theater Zeit - Tanz since 1927, in which they tell their life story and dance. The dance theater of the generations by Heike Hennig has celebrated extraordinary successes since then. The dance theater was filmed under the title Tanz mit der Zeit by Trevor Peters for ZDF and ARTE , and came in 2007/8 with reports in the Tagesthemen and in German cinemas. The book by the author Marion Appelt was published under the title of the same name in 2008 with a foreword by Renate Schmidt and numerous dance photos by Siegfried Prölß and Friedrich U. Minkus.

Since 2007 Horst Dittmann has continued his stage career in the dance theater piece ZeitSprünge , in which the older protagonists and the younger dancers from Heike Hennig & Co enter into an exchange of energies, ideas and experiences. The dance theater of the generations can be experienced as a film and stage play at international festivals, for example with the support of the Ballet British Columbia for the North American premiere as Dancing with Time 2008 in Vancouver . On December 12, 2009, the film was first broadcast on European television under the French title Danse avec le temps .

Horst Dittmann danced the Ruggiero in Heike Hennig's opera production Alcina by Georg Friedrich Handel at the 2008 Handel Festival in Halle and can be seen regularly as an active dancer on guest tours by Heike Hennig & Co and at the Leipzig Opera.
