Jeetzel is a district of the city of Lüchow (Wendland) in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .
location
The village is located two kilometers southwest of the core area of Lüchow on the L 261 state road .
The place was an independent municipality until 1972 and has belonged to the city of Lüchow ever since. The village center has probably changed little since the Middle Ages and was an elongated square village in the early 19th century. Today the village center is characterized by mostly well-preserved 19th century hall houses.
chapel
The evangelical chapel is a rectangular hall , the older eastern part of which is made of brick from the 15th century, while the western part has half-timbering from the 17th century. The free-standing wooden bell tower in the west dates from the 16th century and the bronze bell from around 1300.
In the older, pointed arched entrance there is a tombstone from 1741, which was initially in front of the altar. The tombstones of the then preacher von Lüchow and superintendent von Gartow Ernst-August Pott (1747–1829) and his wife are attached to the northern outer wall.
societies
The non-profit citizen's association Jeetzel has existed since 1970 and currently has 62 members. Jens Eggert from Jeetzel is the chairman. The community center built in 1985 is operated by the association.
traffic
The Jeetzel stop was on the Salzwedel – Dannenberg railway line .
