action

Shyam Sunder "Shammi" falls in love with the neighbor's daughter Kishori while visiting his aunt. After the first advances, the wedding soon takes place, which ends in tragedy: Shammi's widowed sister dies in a fire at the wedding party.

From then on, Shammi's mother Ganga treats her daughter-in-law like a slave. Leela, who is in love with Shammi, also makes Kishori's life hell. Even when Kishori gives birth to a child, the situation does not change. Only Shammi tries to make her life as comfortable as possible.

After Kishori hears of her father's serious illness, she secretly leaves and leaves the baby with Shammi. Arriving at the doorstep, her father takes his last breath. His death drives Kishori insane.

Shammi can't stand Kishori's absence either and goes mad. His mother serves him with incidents that are based only on misunderstandings and cast Kishori in a bad light. Finally Shammi wants to get up and bring his wife back home. When he finds Kishori dead in bed, he knows it is already too late.
