Jeff Corey (born October 10, 1982 in Boothwyn , Pennsylvania ) is a former American ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Reading Royals in the ECHL .

Career

Jeff Corey began his career as a hockey player with the Sioux Falls Stampede, for which he was active from 1999 to 2002 in the junior league United States Hockey League . The winger then played for the University of Vermont team for four years before making his professional ice hockey debut for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League towards the end of the 2005/06 season . After he also spent the following season in Toronto, he went to Europe for the first time, where he was under contract with the Frederikshavn White Hawks in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen in the 2007/08 season .

In the 2008/09 season Corey played for the Reading Royals and South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL , where he won the Kelly Cup with the Stingrays . The following season the American began with the Croatian Erste Bank Eishockey Liga newcomer KHL Medveščak Zagreb , for which he only appeared in ten games in which he scored one goal and gave three assists. However, he ended the season at Wölfe Freiburg in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . For the 2010/11 season, the American returned to the United States and received a contract with Ontario Reign from the ECHL. For this, the right-handed shooter played 28 games and scored 24 points before he ventured back to Europe in January 2011 and signed a contract with the Swedish third division club Östersund Hockey , where he ended the 2010/11 season. After being out of a contract in the 2011/12 season, Corey signed a contract with his former ECHL employer, the Reading Royals, in February 2013. For this he only played five games and ended his active career a short time later.
