Jeffrey Ronald Janis (* 24. June 1991 in Tawas City , Michigan ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . He played for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL) from 2014 to 2017 . In the off-season of the 2018 season, he moved to the Cleveland Browns .
High school
Janis attended Tawas Area High School. He was a member of both the football and basketball teams. As a wide receiver , he was appointed to the school selection. After an injury he was also used as a running back and in the senior year he led the statistics in the running game.
college
Jeff Janis moved to Saginaw Valley State University, which he attended from 2009 to 2013, and played there for the Cardinals. After he failed due to an injury (Redshirt) in 2009, he caught nine passes for 130 yards and one touchdown in 2010 . In 2011 he played all eleven games, eight of them as a starter. He was team best with 968 receiving yards with 48 passes (20.2 i. D.) and 14 touchdowns. In the 2012 season he started as a starter in all 11 games and was second nationwide with 106 passports caught and led the DII players with 1,635 receiving yards. Both were new SVSU season records. He caught 17 touchdown passes and was nominated for "First-Team All-GLIAC" selection. In 2013 he caught 83 passes for 1,572 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was appointed to the "First-Team All-GLIAC" and was a "First-Team AFCA Div. II All-American".
He finished his college career as the second best in the history of GLIAC with 4,305 receiving yards. Janis was invited to play in the Senior Bowl in 2014.

NFL
In the NFL Draft 2014 Janis was signed in the 7th round as the 236th player by the Green Bay Packers. Janis was the first Saginaw Valley State Cardinals drafted player since Guard Todd Herremans in 2005 and the first wide receiver in school history to be drafted. Still, his early role on the team was more in the special teams than a wide receiver in the Snaps .
2015 season
Janis had his breakthrough in the play-off game on January 16, 2016 against the Arizona Cardinals . He caught 7 passes for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 41-yard Hail Mary pass from Aaron Rodgers on the final play that put the game into overtime. However, the Packers lost 26:20 in overtime. 101 of those yards came from the final drive that equalized the game. In addition to the Hail Mary, Janis caught a 60 yard pass on the 4th down and 20 on the 4 yard line of the Packers.
2016 season
On August 10, 2016, Janis broke a bone in his right hand at the Packers' training camp.
