Yegor Vladimirovich Sorin ( Russian Егор Владимирович Сорин ; * July 8, 1985 ) is a former Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Sorin started internationally for the first time in March 2005 at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Rovaniemi . There he won the gold medal with the relay. He also finished there in 13th place in the sprint and tenth place over 10 km freestyle. He made his debut in the World Cup in January 2009 in Rybinsk , which he finished in 27th place in the 15 km mass start race. At the Winter Universiade 2009 in Yabuli , he won the silver medal in the skiathlon and the gold medal in the sprint and with the relay. In December 2009 he was third in the sprint at the Alpencup in Hochfilzen . In the following month he achieved in Otepää with the tenth place over 15 km classic his best place in the world cup individual. In the 2011/12 season he finished 18th in the overall ranking of the Eastern Europe Cup . With fourth place in the sprint in Krasnogorsk, he achieved his best result in the Eastern Europe Cup. He ran his sixth and last World Cup race in February 2012 in Moscow , which he finished in 43rd place in the sprint.
