Jennifer Hamson (born January 23, 1992 in Orem , Utah ) is an American volleyball and former basketball player . As a basketball player, she was active in the United States and Russia. As a volleyball player, she played in the German Bundesliga for 1. VC Wiesbaden and Allianz MTV Stuttgart .

Career

Hamson began her athletic career at Pleasant Grove High School. From 2010 to 2014 she studied at Brigham Young University . During this time she was active in the university teams in volleyball and basketball. She had ties to both sports through her relatives. After graduating, she played basketball. In the Women's National Basketball Association , the national league of the United States, she played as a center for the Los Angeles Sparks and Indiana Fever . She also competed abroad for the Russian association BK Jenissei Krasnoyarsk and the Sydney Uni Flames.

She has been playing volleyball again since 2018. For the 2018/19 season she moved to the German Bundesliga club 1. VC Wiesbaden . With the club she made it to the quarter-finals in the DVV Cup and in the Bundesliga playoffs , where she was eliminated from Allianz MTV Stuttgart . Stuttgart then became their new club. With the club she reached the final of the DVV-Pokal 2019/20 , which Stuttgart lost to Dresdner SC . When the Bundesliga season was canceled shortly before the playoffs, the team was in second place in the table. She then left the club with an unknown destination.
