Jennifer Anne-Marie "Jennie" Sieglar (born March 24, 1983 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German television presenter , television reporter and author .

Life

Sieglar grew up in Bad Soden am Taunus . She passed her A-levels at the Albert Einstein School in Schwalbach. From 2002 to 2009 she studied political science, German literature and sociology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Sieglar began her professional career in the media industry as a freelance editor for television, radio and the press. She worked as a news anchor for planet more music radio in Bad Vilbel and You FM in Frankfurt am Main . When Hessian Radio , she completed an internship .

In 2008 Sieglar started at the Second German Television , initially as an author for articles and so-called "explanatory pieces" in the editorial team of the children's news program logo! which is broadcast on KiKA . Since August 1, 2012, she has been one of the moderators and reporters of the show as the successor to Jule Gölsdorf .

In addition, Jennifer Sieglar has been working as a television reporter for the Hessenschau at Hessischer Rundfunk since 2011 . Since 2014 she has moderated the Hessenschau Kompakt and the news block in the Hessenschau. Since 2019 she has been a reporter for the "Field Service" section in the ZDF foreign journal .

In September 2017 she published the non-fiction book I don't understand the world anymore at Piper Verlag together with Tim Schreder , in which 24 current news topics are explained in an understandable and entertaining way. The book was on the SPIEGEL bestseller list in the paperback non-fiction category for several weeks. In March 2019, she published the non-fiction book Umweltliebe , also by Piper Verlag, in which she describes how one can make everyday life more environmentally friendly. This book also made it onto the SPIEGEL bestseller list.

Sieglar lives near Frankfurt am Main. She has been married to Tim Schreder since 2019 .
