Jenny Jägerfeld (born April 6, 1974 in Skarblacka , Sweden ) is a Swedish writer .

Life

Jägerfeld made her debut as a writer in 2006 with the novel Hål i huvudet . With her second novel Här ligger jag och blöder , published in 2010, Jägerfeld was internationally successful. The book for young people about 16-year-old Maja Müller, the daughter of a woman with Asperger's Syndrome , has been translated into several languages. In Germany, the book was published by Birgitta Kicherer under the title The pain, the future, my errors and me in Munich's Carl Hanser Verlag . In addition to critical acclaim, she has also received several literary prizes. In 2010 she received the August Prize for the best children's and young people's book and the German children's literature prize Luchs . In 2015 she was a member of the jury for The Extraordinary Book of the Children and Youth Program of the Berlin International Literature Festival . In 2017 she was awarded the Swedish Astrid Lindgren Prize and in 2018 the children's book prize from Sveriges Radio for her novel Comedy Queen .
