Jens Dobler

Jens Dobler (* 1965 ) is a German historian , author and editor .

Life

Jens Dobler studied education, psychology and modern history. He completed his studies at the Technical University of Berlin in 2008 with a dissertation on the persecution of homosexuals by the Berlin police from 1848 to 1933. Alongside Claudia Schoppmann , he is one of the most important experts on the persecution of lesbian women under National Socialism .

As a freelance author, Dobler wrote, among other things, a catalog on the history of gays in Berlin-Kreuzberg . He is also an employee of various scientific associations and societies. From 2010 to 2015 he was head of the archive and library of the Schwules Museum in Berlin . Since then he has headed the Police History Collection at the Berlin Police Headquarters .
