Jens Grittner (born February 25, 1970 in Fulda , Hesse ) is a German sports journalist and press spokesman for the national team at the German Football Association .

Life

After graduating from the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium in Fulda in 1989, Grittner began a three-year business administration course , which he completed in 1994 with a diploma. During his studies he worked at Tegut , which had enabled him to train at a vocational academy.

During his school days he worked as a freelancer for the Fuldaer Zeitung on soccer fields in the region. After three years of work in the PR agency Roth und Lohre in Stuttgart , he joined the DFB in 1999 , where he had already completed an internship at the press office in 1997. In July 2000 he became press spokesman for the organizing committee for the 2006 World Cup under the direction of Franz Beckenbauer . After the 2006 World Cup, he became press spokesman for the U-21 national team . As the women's world championship in Germanywas due, Grittner returned as press spokesman for the organizing committee. After ex-press spokesman Harald Stenger's contract, which expired on August 31, 2012, was not extended, Grittner became the new DFB press spokesman.

Since November 2019, he and Stefanie Schulte have been acting provisionally in the DFB's Public and Fans Division.

Grittner has been married since 2000. He lives in Dreieich and is the father of two sons and a daughter.
