Jens Schubert

Jens Schubert (* 1983 in Schwarzenberg in the Ore Mountains) is a German artist .

Life

In 2004, Jens Schubert began studying painting and graphics at the University of Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig . Until he graduated in 2009, he attended Annette Schröter's class , where he completed his master's degree in the same year. In 2011 he finished his studies and received the Marion Ermer Prize . Since then, several publications have been made about him.

Works by Jens Schubert were a. a. Bought by the Art Fund of the Free State of Saxony and the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig .

From 2016 to 2019 he held a teaching position at the Hfk Bremen .

Jens Schubert mainly uses graphic media such as drawing and printing for his work . He alternates between different materials ( paper , polyester , glass , wood , linoleum ), tools ( pen , colored pencil , brush ) and techniques ( screen printing , lithography , airbrush , hand drawing ).

During and after graduating from college, Schubert devoted his work exclusively to linocut. This resulted in large-format and colorful series of works, which are composed of up to 20 or more layers of color or print.
