action

Due to financial hardship, Julia and her husband Felix and their son Niko move into the run-down house of Julia's deceased sister Jette, who recently committed suicide. While Felix is hoping for a new start by moving to the secluded farm, Julia is greatly burdened by her sister's suicide. She doesn't believe in suicide. When she then hears eerie noises and the voice of Jette on the radio, she believes she is hearing signs from the afterlife and wants to get to the bottom of the real cause of her sister's death. In doing so she comes across an old legend from the area, which is about the Germanic god Gothus, who takes the sick and children with him, abuses them for his own purposes and then kills them. Julia suspects that Jette fell victim to him. Felix does not believe in sagas, gods and spirits and tries to convince Julia that there is a rational explanation for everything mysterious in the house. But when son Niko comes back from the forest completely changed, Julia is sure that he too has been taken over by Gothus.

"Excellent mystery thriller that pulls all the stops of the genre with great skill."

"A great moment in cinema format with Julia Hartmann in the lead role, which captivates until the last second."
