Jerell Adams (* 31 December 1992 in Pinewood , South Carolina ) is an American American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He plays for the Houston Texans as a tight end .
High school
Adams attended Scott's Branch High School in Summerton . In addition to football, he also played basketball successfully. In his first year he put on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Adams played in various positions in football. In addition to tight end , defensive end and punter , he also tried his hand at quarterback . During his high school career, he threw passes for passes for 689 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a pass recipient, he contributed eight receiving touchdowns.

Adams chose the University of South Carolina in 2012 . In his four years of college, he played the tight end position, catching 66 passes for 977 yards and seven touchdowns.
NFL
New York Giants
In the 2016 NFL Draft , Adams was drafted 184th in the sixth round by the New York Giants . He received a four-year contract worth $ 2.48 million including a signing bonus of $ 142,855. He scored his first and only NFL touchdown in Week 10 in 2016 in a 21:20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals . Although he seemed to have established himself as the third tight end in the training camp and the preseason , he was fired from the Giants on September 2, 2018 in the course of extensive changes in the squad.
Houston Texans
On October 10, 2018, Adams was able to prevail against the competition of two other tight ends and was signed by the Houston Texans for the Practice Squad.
