The son of Abraham Siegel († December 13, 1616), from whom he inherited the hammer works in Schönheiderhammer and Wolfsgrün in the Ore Mountains , received an electoral license on February 12, 1629 to build a blast furnace on Plattener Strasse in Steinbach . The rod hammer was enlarged, a sheet metal hammer was built, sheet metal production started and a plant for tinning sheet metal (tinplate production) was built. To this end, he turned to the elector in 1627.

On October 19, 1618, he married Barbara Siegel (1600–1669), the daughter of the Elterlein city judge and hammer gentleman Caspar Siegel and granddaughter of hammer gentleman Michael Siegel in Mittweida .

His sons were Abraham (1630–1682) and Heinrich (1634–1671). His wife Barbara and his son Heinrich are regarded as the beneficiaries of the Schönheiderhammer hammer mill.
