Life

The eldest son of Jeremias Siegel , who was Hammerherr zu Schönheiderhammer and Wolfsgrün , and Barbara Siegel (1600–1669), the daughter of the Elterlein city judge and Hammerherr Caspar Siegel and granddaughter of Hammerherr Michael Siegel in Mittweida , took over the parental hammer mill in Ober- Blauenthal, while his younger brother Heinrich received the Schönheiderhammer. After his brother's death in 1671 without leaving any heirs, he also took over the Schönheiderhammer, which had established itself as one of the most important hammers in the Western Ore Mountains .

In 1666 Abraham Siegel from the Schwarzenberg office acquired the concession to build a brewery on his hammer mill in Wolfsgrün. The beer brewed there was consumed in the hammer tavern.

Abraham Siegel was married to Christina Siegel since 1654. This was the daughter of Melchior Hauck from Niederauerbach. Her eldest son Heinrich Siegel (1656–1689) continued to run the hammer mill. The son of the same name Abaraham Siegel died in 1671. Their daughter Barbara Siegel married the local pastor Salomon Stepner in the city of Uebigau in 1677.
