Jerry Trimble
Jerry Foster Trimble Jr. (born May 12, 1961 in Newport , Kentucky ) is an American - Canadian kickboxer , actor and stuntman .
Life
After seeing Bruce Lee in Bruce Lee Death Greetings from Shanghai at the age of 14, Trimble began practicing martial arts. In his hometown he trained Taekwon-Do with Richard Hamilton and achieved the 1st Dan in 18 months . He later devoted himself to kickboxing, quitting his job at a Kroger supermarket and moving to Atlanta , Georgia . On June 6, 1980, he defeated the AAU Champion Tommy Marshall in the fourth round by technical knockout in his first competition, which he secured the Kentucky State Kickboxing Championship title. He won several titles under the ring name Golden Boy . Trimble received its own column in the special interest magazine Karate Illustrated and opened its own Trimble's Martial Arts and Fitness Dojo in Marietta . In 1986 he became PKA and PKC World Kickboxing Champion. In November 1989 he fought his last fight.
In 1990 he retired from active martial arts and moved to Los Angeles . Trimble first gave karate lessons in a Chuck Norris studio, where he soon met a talent manager who signed him and sent him to his first auditions. Since then, Trimble has mainly worked as an actor and stuntman. He appeared in the films Karate Tiger 5 - King of Kickboxers , Heat , 3 Angels for Charlie and The Green Hornet , among others .
He has been married to the actress Ami Dolenz since 2002 .
