Jesús González de Zárate Salas

Jesús González de Zárate Salas (born December 27, 1960 in Caracas , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Cumaná .

Life

The Archbishop of Caracas, Cardinal José Alí Lebrún Moratinos , ordained him on January 11, 1986 as a priest

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on October 15, 2007 auxiliary bishop in Caracas and titular bishop of Suava . The Archbishop of Caracas, Jorge Liberato Cardinal Urosa Savino , donated him episcopal ordination on January 12 of the next year . Co- consecrators were Baltazar Enrique Porras Cardozo , Archbishop of Mérida , and Ubaldo Ramón Santana Sequera FMI , Archbishop of Maracaibo .

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Cumaná on May 24, 2018.
