Jesús Tomás Zárraga Colmenares

Jesús Tomás Zárraga Colmenares (born September 22, 1957 in Caserio Azaro ) is a Venezuelan clergyman and emeritus bishop of San Carlos de Venezuela .

Life

The Bishop of Coro , Ramón Ovidio Pérez Morales , ordained him a priest on September 14, 1985 . He was incardinated on July 12, 1997 in the clergy of the diocese of Punto Fijo .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of San Carlos de Venezuela on December 27, 2002 . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Caracas, Santiago de Venezuela , Antonio Ignacio Cardinal Velasco Garcia SDB , on March 15 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Ramón Ovidio Pérez Morales , Archbishop ad personam of Los Teques , and Juan María Leonardi Villasmil , Bishop of Punto Fijo. As Apostolic Administrator , he administered the diocese of La Guaira from November 2011 to November 2013 during the Sedis vacancy .

On November 10, 2014, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
