Jeserig is a district and the seat of the municipal administration of the municipality of Groß Kreutz (Havel) in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg .

history

The Jeseriger See, now silted up, was first mentioned in 1375. In Jeserig, a feudal owner of the Lehnin monastery developed into a manor before 1644. Until 1928, Schenkenberg belonged to Jeserig as a Vorwerk. The original street village runs through Schulstrasse. On the Chaussee, which was built from 1804, the Fernfahrers Ruh relaxation area was created. The settlement was established at the beginning of the 19th century together with the later independent Schenkenberg.

Protestant church

The Protestant village church of Jeserig and the Catholic church of St. Josef are located in Jeserig . Both churches belong to the architectural monuments in Groß Kreutz (Havel) .

societies

The Jeserigers orient themselves sportily towards Schenkenberg. Active is the local group of people's solidarity, the fishing club since 1961, today with land on the Havel, the breed poultry breeders' club. The fire brigade association Jeserig 2006 eV and the SV Fire Boots Linedance Jeserig eV enrich the cultural and sporting life in the community since 2006.
