action

The leader of a yakuza organization, Tsukamoto, deposited 100 million dollars for those who would avenge his death in the event of his murder. A little later he is killed. Numerous people attend a meeting of the killers who could carry out the job. Among them is Fu, who used to be a soldier in an elite unit and is in financial difficulties. Fu allies with the impostor Ngok Lo.

Ngok Lo, who is now Fu's agent, buys expensive clothing for his business partner.

Eiji Tsukamoto, the grandson of the murdered man, wants to kill the murderer himself. He resents his father that strangers should avenge his father's death. Meanwhile, Fu takes on another contract to cover the running costs. He does not kill the target person, but defends them from the other killers, for which he is rewarded with money by this person. He and Ngok Lo are arrested and questioned at the scene. Ngok Los's daughter Kiki, who is studying law, gets them both out of prison. He accommodates Fu in his apartment - in his daughter's former room. He warns Fu that he shouldn't rave about Kiki, who is already engaged.

When Fu and Ngok Lo are harassed by Eiji Tsukamoto, Ngok tells Fu that he is an impostor. Furthermore, Ngok Lo spread in the underworld that he was the king of killers . But, since Tsukamoto was killed by the real King of Killers , everyone is now wrongly after him.

Fu and Ngok meet with Tsukamoto. There it comes to a big fight in which the King of the Killer suddenly appears and reveals himself as a policeman.

A fight ensues between the king of killers and Eiji, in which Eiji Tsukamoto dies. The chairman of the jury that is to award the reward agrees to agree to the version in which Eiji Tsukamoto was the murderer to be killed. The killer king wants to leave his place to Fu, who fires Ngok Lo as his agent and instead assigns his daughter Kiki to mediate the orders.

Reviews

Almar Haflidason wrote for the BBC that, as with many Hong Kong- made films , the humor is not well received. The choreography of the fight scenes compensates for this deficiency.

Cinema magazine wrote that the “ half-baked film ” lacked “ action and big gags ”. The “ furious ” finale and “ some nice scenes ” were praised.

Awards

Wei Tung was nominated for the 1999 Hong Kong Film Award for choreographing the action scenes .
