Jeton (born June 21, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ; civil: Jens Thorwächter ) is a German juggler . He is one of the best artists of the gentleman juggler art form internationally . He became internationally known for the juggling and balancing of objects of daily life typical of this genre . His tricks with billiard cues , coffee cups and a large wall mirror are his trademark, as is the combination of juggling, figure and music into a whole.

The specialist encyclopedia “Virtuosos of Juggling” counts Jeton among the “Top-level newcomers to juggling in the new millennium” and writes about him and his gentleman juggling : “Today, the last surviving exponents of the variety art form are only found in Germany by the juggler token. He spent a year at the school Ecole de Cirque des Bruxelles and found in Germany an exceptional teacher in the person of Arthur Caral, who was himself a strongman and salon juggler “ .

The professional world honored Jeton several times for his art:

  • 2016 Special Prize of the Society of Circus Friends eV (GCD) at the 11th International Circus Festival in Budapest
  • 2013 Award of Excellence, International Jugglers 'Association (IJA), Bowling Green, Ohio (USA): In 2013, Jeton was the first German artist to receive the Award of Excellence from the International Jugglers' Association (IJA) for his artistic work . This award is known as the "Oscar of juggling" and the IJA honors jugglers who have made a significant contribution to this art form.
  • 2010 Artist of the Year, FILharmonie Filderstadt : Specialized media award “Artist of the Year”, awarded as part of the Golden Artist Gala
  • 1998 Special prize at the Festival Mondial du Music-Hall, Paris (Under the patronage of the French Minister of Culture, this festival promotes young and unknown talent.)
  • 1997 1st prize at Roncallis Artistenmanege, BUGA Gelsenkirchen : Artists qualify over several stages for the grand finale in the Roncalli tent at the Federal Garden Show in Gelsenkirchen. The jury headed by Bernhard Paul awarded Jeton 1st prize; the press judges: "Gentleman juggler Jeton is the new star in the vaudeville sky" .
