Jette van der Meij , actually Henriëtte Theodore van der Meij (born September 24, 1954 in Oosterbeek , municipality of Renkum ) is a Dutch actress .

Life

After studying singing at the Amsterdam Conservatory for two years , she switched to the Academy for Cabaret to learn drama . There she met the screenwriter and director Ad de Bont , who helped her develop her own style. This led to the musical theater production Het Ritueel ("The Ritual"), for which she received the Creativiteitsprijs ("Creativity Prize").

In addition to acting, Jette van der Meij is also a singer. In particular, she sang jazz . She also danced in the opera De Materie ("The Matter") by Louis Andriessen , directed by Robert Wilson .

In 1988 she won a shared second prize at the Le Grand Prix du Theater Festival . She starred in the film Honneponnetje of Ruud van Hemert a taxi driver and sang in her along with Peggy Larson and Astrid Seriese founded band De Melodiewaps .

With her own music theater production Kripuur , she won the Top Naeff Prize for the most promising graduation project . The jury made the decision based on their idiosyncratic way of combining singing, music and theater.

In October 2005, she expressed on the occasion of the 2,000th episode of Goede tijden the wish that their role Laura Selmhorst again marry and unlike their first wedding have an elaborate celebration with a long bridal train and should wear a long red dress.
