Yevgenia Leonidovna Issakova

Yevgenija Leonidowna Issakova ( Russian Евгения Леонидовна Исакова , English transcription Yevgeniya Isakova ; born November 27, 1978 in Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg ) is a former Russian hurdler .

Although the specialist has run under 58 seconds on the 400-meter course every year since 2001, it wasn't until 2006 that she made her breakthrough to the top international. In 2006 she became Russian champion in 55.09 seconds. At the European Cup she was second in 55.82 seconds behind the British Tasha Danvers-Smith .

At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , Issakowa ran a personal best in the semi-finals with 54.17 seconds. In the final, she increased to 53.93 seconds and was European champion ahead of the Greek Fani Chalkia .

At the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka, she was sixth.

Yevgenia Issakova was 1.75 m tall and had a competition weight of 67 kg.
