Tasha Danvers (from August 2005 to January 2008 Tasha Danvers-Smith, actually Natasha Danvers ; born September 19, 1977 in the London Borough of Lambeth ) is a former British hurdler who specialized in the 400-meter course .

In 1996 she accepted an offer from the University of Southern California . While studying music business , she became an NCAA champion in 2000 .

At the 1999 World Athletics Championships in Seville, she was eliminated in the preliminary stages, and was eighth at the 2000 Olympic Games .

In 2001 she failed again at the World Championships in Edmonton , but won the Universiade . The following year she was seventh at the European Championships in Munich , and at the 2003 World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis, she made it to the semi-finals.

In 2004 she took time off to give birth to a son. She made her comeback, starting for England , at the 2006 Commonwealth Games , where she won the silver medal. A seventh place at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg was followed by an eighth place at the 2007 World Cup in Osaka.

She celebrated her greatest success so far at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. With her personal record of 53.84 seconds, she won the bronze medal behind Melaine Walker (JAM) and Sheena Tosta (USA).

Tasha Danvers is 1.74 m tall and weighs 65 kg. She is the child of jamaikanischstämmigen parents, who were both active as athletes, and lives with her husband and coach Darrell Smith Jr. in Los Angeles .
