Yevgenia Alexandrovna Sedowa ( Russian Евгения Александровна Седова ; born July 18, 1986 in Schadrinsk , Kurgan Oblast , former Soviet Union ) is a Russian biathlete .

Yevgenia Sedova began cross-country skiing in 1994 and from 2001 with the biathlon. Initially, the 1.70 m wide and 56-kg athlete from her father Alexander Sedov trained from 2007 she moved to W. Sakharov in the Центр спортивной подготовки сборных команд Югры (ЦСПСКЮ) (sports and training center of the team Yugra) by Chanty -Mansiysk . She took part in the Junior World Championships for the first time in Haute-Maurienne in 2004 and was there 22nd in the sprint, tenth in individual and pursuit, with Swetlana Slepzowa and Tatjana Sewachina fourth in the relay race. It took two years until she started again internationally at a major event, the Junior European Championships, in Langdorf , where she reached 13th place in the sprint and eleven in the pursuit. The 2007 Junior World Championships in Martell were successful . Sedowa won the singles title and finished fifth in the sprint, was 18th in the pursuit and fourth in the relay race with Slepzowa and Jelena Kosak. At the European Junior Championships, which was held shortly afterwards in Bansko , the Russian competed only in the individual, where she just missed a medal in fourth place.

Other international appearances have only followed in 2007 in the European Biathlon Cup , now with women in the performance area. In her first sprint at the start of the 2007/08 season in Geilo , she achieved a top ten position in tenth place. A little later she achieved her best result in the racing series with eighth place in Torsby . Nationally, Sedova won the Russian Biathlon Championships in 2009 in Uwat together with Olga Anissimowa , Svetlana Slepzowa and Jekaterina Schumilowa for Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk starting the relay title. In addition, she won the silver medal in the mass start behind Oksana Neupokojewa . The following year she won the bronze medal with the relay.

After good results in the 2010/2011 season in the Biathlon European Cup , Sedowa was able to make her World Cup debut at the end of the season in Oslo. She finished 10th in the sprint and 12th in the pursuit. With these two results, she qualified for the mass start, where she finished 12th.
