Yevhen Kucherevskyi

Yevhen Mefodijowytsch Kutscherewskyj ( Ukrainian Євген Мефодійович Кучеревський , scientific. Transliteration Jevhen Mefodijovyč Kučerevs'kyj ; Russian Евгений Мефодьевич Кучеревский / Yevgeny Mefodjewitsch Kutscherewski * 6. August 1941 in Kherson , † 26. August 2006 in Kiev ) was a Ukrainian football coach .

Kucherewskyj became known as the coach of Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk . Under his leadership, the club won the Soviet championship in the 1988 season , and in 1987 and 1989 the team came second. In 1989 he became the Soviet cup winner . Until the beginning of 2005 he had an influence on the club.

Kucherewskyi was seriously injured in a traffic accident on August 26, 2006 and died an hour and a half later in a hospital without regaining consciousness. At Kucherevskyi's funeral, the mayor of Dnipropetrovsk , Ivan Kulichenko , announced that he would name a street after Kucherevskyi.
