Jhajjar is a city ( Municipal Committee ) in the northwest Indian state of Haryana .
The city is located 55 km west of the city center of the federal capital New Delhi . Jhajjar is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . Bahadurgarh, the largest city in the district, is 27 km east-northeast. The city of Jhajjar had 48,424 inhabitants at the 2011 census. In Bahadurgarh, 98% of the population are Hindus . The city is a self-governing municipality of the Municipal Committee type . It is divided into 19 wards .
The national highway NH 71 connects Jhajjar with Rohtak, 30 km north, and Rewari, 45 km south . The Rohtak – Rewari railway also runs past the city.
