The Akebono rock ( English , Japanese あけぼの岩 Akebono-iwa , Norwegian Draggyfjellet , both for Dawn Rock ) is a mountain-like rocky cape at the Prince Olav Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Lands . It is located immediately east of the mouth of the Akebono glacier and 47 km west of the Carstensfjella .
Japanese scientists mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs from the years 1957 to 1962. They named it 1963. A topographical map was then created based on surveys from the years 1972 to 1978.
