Jiří Jarošík (born October 27, 1977 in Ústí nad Labem ) is a Czech football player .

Career

The uncompromising central midfielder began his career with the youth teams of Sparta Prague , FK Teplice , FK Ústí nad Labem and Komastav Chuderov. In 1996 he joined the first team of Sparta Prague. In 1997 he went to Slovan Liberec on a free transfer . From 1999 to 2002 Jarošík played again at Sparta Prague before moving to CSKA Moscow in the 2002/03 season.

In 2004/05 the Czech went to Chelsea FC in England for twelve million euros . Early in the 2005/06 season he was loaned to Birmingham City . From mid-2006 to January 2008, the Czech played for Celtic Glasgow , then moved back to the Russian Premier League to Krylja Sowetow Samara . After his contract in Samara expired, Jarošík joined the Spanish club Real Saragossa in January 2010 . After only one year in Spain, he signed a two-year contract with his hometown club AC Sparta Prague. In August 2013, Jarošík moved back to Spain for Deportivo Alavés on a free transfer .
