Jiří Krytinář (born April 28, 1947 in Sejřek , Czechoslovakia , † September 29, 2015 in Prague ) was a Czech actor .

life and career

The actor, who is only 120 centimeters tall, became known in Europe for his portrayal of the dwarf Stink in the television series Die Märchenbraut . In total, his filmography includes almost 50 film and television productions over a period of 45 years, including the classic fairy tale film Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella (1973) and the Oscar-winning drama Amadeus (1984). His last role was in the Czech television series Stopy zivota in 2014 , and he died a year later at the age of 68.

Krytinář suffered from a bone disease from childhood. He initially completed an apprenticeship as a watchmaker, but then turned to acting from 1969. In 1981 he got an engagement from the Barrandov Studios, at the same time he played in the Alhambra Theater (1981 to 1996) and in the Prague Children's Theater (1992 to 1994). The director Ivan Vojnar made a documentary about Krytinář's life in 1993 under the title Nespavost .
