Gyiba

The "community Gyiba of Monba " ( 吉巴门巴族乡 , jiba Ménbāzú Xiang ) is a nationality community in the county Cona of the administrative district of Shannan in Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . The community of nationalities, founded on November 1, 1984, has an area of ​​267 km² and 204 inhabitants (2000 census), 199 of whom are members of the Monba ethnic minority .

economy

Gyiba lives from agriculture, especially the cultivation of highland barley (Qingke) and rapeseed . Yaks and goats are kept as domestic animals. As a sideline, the Monba also operate traditional production methods , for example the black musk deer is hunted to obtain musk and the Chinese caterpillar mushroom is collected.

Administrative structure

Gyiba is made up of two villages. These are:

  • Gyiba village (吉巴 村), center, seat of the municipal government;
  • Village rank (让 村).
