Jim Capaldi
Jim Capaldi (born August 2, 1944 in Evesham , Worcestershire , † January 28, 2005 in London ) was a British rock musician .
Life
The grandson of Italian immigrants played as a drummer alongside Steve Winwood in the band Traffic , of which he was co-founder in 1967. He was successful as a singer-songwriter and released numerous solo albums under his own name.
In 1973 Capaldi took part in Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert alongside other famous musicians such as Pete Townshend and Ronnie Wood . In 1975 he married the Brazilian Aninha Campos, and the marriage resulted in two daughters, Tabitha and Tallulah.
In 2001 he recorded the album Living on the Outside in Cologne's Can studio together with producer René Tinner . It also features guest musicians such as Paul Weller , Ian Paice , Gary Moore and George Harrison . On November 29, 2002, Capaldi took part in the memorial concert for George Harrison , which was held at the Royal Albert Hall .
Capaldi died of stomach cancer on January 28, 2005 in London .
