Jim Varela , full name Jim Morrison Varela Devotto , (born October 16, 1994 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
Depending on the sources, 1.75 meters or 1.80 meters tall midfielder Varela initially played for Club Atlético Peñarol . In the Apertura 2012 there are three appearances (no goal) in the Primera División for him. With the Aurinegros he was Uruguayan champion in the 2012/13 season . In July 2013 he moved to Benfica Lisbon , where he was scheduled for the B team. Benfica loaned the player to SC Farense without a competitive game . There he completed ten games in the Liga de Honra (one goal) in the 2013/14 season and then returned to Benfica. In the 2014/15 season, however, there was no competitive appearance for him. In September 2014, he was on trial training sessions at the Spanish club Real Murcia . In January 2015 he was finally loaned to the Rampla Juniors in his Uruguayan homeland . There he played in eight league games (no goal) in the 2015 Clausura. He returned to Benfica in early July 2015. He was part of the second team's squad in the 2015/16 season, but was not used in the league. In mid-May 2016 he moved to Brazil for SC São Paulo . Since mid-August 2016 he has been in the ranks of the second division Club Atlético Atenas , where he played twelve league games (no goal). In January 2017, the first division side Juventud signed him , for whom he has so far (as of February 13, 2017) played in two first division games (no goal).
National team
Varela made his debut on October 28, 2008 under coach Fabián Coito at Torneo Val de Marne in the game against France in the Uruguayan U-15 national team . With the selection, in which he completed a total of 20 caps and scored two goals, he participated in the in Bolivia discharged 15 South American Championship U-2009 part. He was also a member of the U-17 in his home country . There he played from his debut on June 23, 2010 in the Torneo Diario La Voz del Interior in a 2-1 win against the Chilean team 30 internationals (no goal). He was a member of Uruguay's squad at the 2011 U-17 World Cup in Mexico and played in five games in the competition in which Uruguay was runner-up. Varela was part of the squad of the Uruguayan U-20 selection at the U-20 South American Championship in Argentina in 2013 and played eight games during the tournament. In July 2013 he was then runner-up with Uruguay at the U-20 World Cup 2013 in Turkey . Varela was used in a game at the World Cup. So far (as of July 5, 2013) he has completed 26 international matches in this age group.
