Jirō Kamata ( Japanese 鎌 田 次郎 , Kamata Jirō ; born July 28, 1985 in Tokyo , Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Jirō Kamata learned to play football in the youth team of FC Tokyo and in the university team of the Ryūtsū Keizai University . From February 2006 to January 2007 he was loaned to Kashiwa Reysol by the university . In 2006, the club from Kashiwa , a city in Chiba Prefecture on Honshū , the main island of Japan , played in the country's second highest league, the J2 League . At the end of the season, the club was runner-up and rose to the first division. In 2008 he moved to Kashiwa Reysol on a free transfer. From 2008 to 2009 he played eleven times for Kashiwa in the first division, the J1 League . In 2010 he was signed by league competitor Vegalta Sendai from Sendai . In 2012 he was runner-up with Vegalta. By the end of 2015, he had completed 176 top division games for the club. In 2016 he signed a contract with his former club Kashiwa Reysol. In 2018 he had to start the second class with Kashiwa. A year later they became champions of J2 and went straight back to the top division.
