João Luiz Areias Netto

João Luiz Areias Netto (born January 31, 1924 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian diplomat .

Life

In 1946 he received a Bachelor of Laws from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro . He completed the Curso de Preparação à Carreira de Diplomata and the Curso de Curso de Aperfeiçoamento de Diplomatas of the Rio Branco Institute as well as the Curso de Direito Diplomático e Direito Consular of the Instituto de Direito Comparado , Escola de Altos Estudos, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Janeiro , the Curso Superior de Guerra and the Curso de Atualização of the Escola Superior de Guerra . He holds a Diploma do Instituto Superior de Estudos Brasileiros .

On January 9, 1948, he was appointed third class consul. From 1950 to 1952 he was the third class delegation secretary in Buenos Aires . From 1952 to 1953 he was Vice Consul in Zurich . On December 16, 1953, he was promoted to second class consul. From 1953 to 1956 he was an attached consul in Zurich. João Luiz Areias Netto was second class legation secretary in 1959 and temporarily business agent in Canberra . From 1962 to 1964 he was an attached consul and temporarily chargé d'affaires in Copenhagen . From 1965 to 1966 he was first-class delegation secretary and temporarily business porter in Moscow . From 1966 to 1967 he was first class delegation secretary and at times business porter in Dakar . In 1967 he was promoted to third class delegation councilor. In 1968 he headed the Security, Information and Africa Department at Itamaraty and was promoted to second class Legation Councilor.

From 1969 to 1973 he was Consul General in Lisbon . In 1972 he was provisional consul general in Paris . From 1973 to 1976 he was Consul General in Asunción . In 1974 Ernesto Geisel sent him on a special mission to the Holy See . From March 24, 1976 to July 22, 1987 he was ambassador in Libreville . From 1984 he was also accredited by the government in Malabo Equatorial Guinea .
