João Nugent Ramos Pinto

João Nugent Ramos Pinto (born August 11, 1949 in Porto ) is a diplomat from Portugal .

Life

After completing his law studies, he went into the foreign service . He then served in Portuguese embassies , such as the Portuguese Ambassador to Ireland (1984–1989), the Portuguese Representative in the USA (1989–1991) and the Portuguese Ambassador to the United Kingdom (1995–2000).

From 2001 to 2004 he was Commissioner for the Affairs of the Community of Portuguese- Speaking Countries (CPLP) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal .

In 2004, he was first chief responsibility ambassadors , as Portuguese ambassador to East Timor until 2009. From 2009 to 2012, he was the representative of Portugal in South Africa , 2012 to 2014 he was the Ambassador of Portugal in Switzerland . Then he switched to diplomatic retirement.
