List of Portuguese ambassadors in South Africa

The list of Portuguese ambassadors in South Africa lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in South Africa . Relations between the two countries go back at least to 1886. On September 9, 1935, the Portuguese legation began work in the South African capital Pretoria , and in 1954 it was elevated to the status of a full embassy.

The embassy is located at number 599 Leyds Street in the Muckleneuk district of the capital Pretoria.

In addition to the embassy, ​​Portugal has three consulates general in South Africa in Johannesburg , Cape Town and in Groenkloof , a district of the capital Pretoria. There are also three Portuguese honorary consulates in Durban , Port Elizabeth and Welkom .
