List of Portuguese ambassadors in Malawi

The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Malawi lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Malawi .

A representative of Portugal was first accredited in 1969 in the Malawian capital Zomba . Portugal had had its own embassy there since 1966 , until diplomatic relations were broken off on July 25, 1974. The embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany then took care of Portugal's interests in Malawi, until a Portuguese representative was accredited on site for the first time in 1983. Portugal did not reopen its own representation there, since then Malawi has been part of the administrative district of the Portuguese Ambassador to Zimbabwe , who is accredited for this purpose at the Malawian seat of government in Lilongwe (until 1994 Zomba) (status 2019).
