The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Mali lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Mali . The countries have since 1976 direct diplomatic relations, the first contacts in today's Senegal established Portuguese explorers to the Malian city of Timbuktu back from the 1565th
The first ambassador of Portugal was accredited in 1978 in the Malian capital Bamako . Portugal did not open its own embassy there, the country continues to belong to the administrative district of the Portuguese ambassador in Senegal , who is receiving second accreditation in Mali (as of 2019).
