List of Portuguese ambassadors in Equatorial Guinea
The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Equatorial Guinea lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Equatorial Guinea . The two states have had direct diplomatic relations since March 9, 1977. Since 2014, Equatorial Guinea has also been a member of the Portuguese-speaking Community , which Portugal co-founded in 1996.
A separate message , Portugal has not yet opened there, even though since 2016 the establishment of a Portuguese embassy in Equatorial Guinea's capital Malabo announced and since 2017 a charge d'affaires in charge of the preparatory assistance is (early 2019). The representative of Portugal in São Tomé and Príncipe is still responsible for Equatorial Guinea and is double-accredited there if necessary or on occasion . A local Portuguese representative was accredited for the first time in 1997.
Since 2013 there has been a Portuguese honorary consulate in the '' Bairro de Caracolas '' district in Malabo .
