List of Portuguese ambassadors in Benin

The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Benin lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Benin . The countries have had direct diplomatic relations since 1977, which go back to the arrival of the Portuguese explorers as the first Europeans in what is now Benin in 1472.

The first ambassador of Portugal was accredited in 1984 in the Benin capital Cotonou . Portugal has not yet opened its own embassy there, the Portuguese representative in Nigeria will continue to receive a second accreditation in Benin (as of 2019).
