List of Portuguese ambassadors in Switzerland
The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Switzerland lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Switzerland . The two states have had diplomatic relations since 1815. In 1855, Portugal set up a consulate in Geneva as the first Portuguese diplomatic mission. In 1872 the first Portuguese embassy in Switzerland was moved into Bern with a diplomatic legation. In 1959 it was made a full embassy.
In addition to the embassy, Portugal now has two consulates general in Geneva and Zurich and two consular offices in Lugano and Sion .
The Portuguese ambassador in Bern is also accredited as the Portuguese ambassador in Liechtenstein .
