Joachim Erbslöh (born September 28, 1909 in Barmen ; † June 13, 2006 in Bad Oldesloe ) was a German medic.

Life

Joachim Erbslöh studied medicine in Kiel , Rostock , Innsbruck and Bonn , was entrusted with the construction of the municipal women's clinic in Bromberg / West Prussia in 1939 and was given the rare opportunity to gain extensive independent experience at the age of 30 and as one of the youngest head physicians in Germany to collect his specialty. In 1944 he completed his habilitation at the Medical Academy in Danzig , where he received a lectureship. After being a prisoner of war in 1947 he became the chief doctor of the gynecological department, the cancer counseling center and the cytological examination center at the district hospital in Bad Oldesloe .

Since 1959 he had a teaching position for gynecological obstetric X-ray diagnostics at the University of Kiel .

Erbslöh was the first chairman of the scientific advisory board of the International Seminar for Medical Training and in 1964 became a member of the International College of Surgeons , based in Chicago. In 1973 he received the “Prix Madeleine Rousseau” for his services in the field of color psychology. Here he had published several scientific papers on the methods of assessing patients from a color psychological perspective.

In 1981 he received the "Grand Cross of the Italian Academy for Economic and Social Development". At the age of 85 he was accepted into the New York Academy of Science , which includes scientists from 150 countries, including 40 Nobel Prize winners. The gynecologist was also offered honorary membership in the International Association for the Protection of Life . Erbslöh left behind more than 100 scientific treatises and essays.
