Joachim Schumacher (born October 26, 1950 in Saarbrücken ) is a German photographer .

Live and act

Joachim Schumacher studied visual communication and photo design from 1972 to 1977 at the University of Essen, formerly Folkwang School with Otto Steinert . From 1978 to 1980 he worked as a photographer at the press office / office for city advertising of the city of Essen. He has been working as a freelancer since 1980. From 1987 to 1992 he was a member of the ANTRAZIT photography group and from 1992 to 2000 a member of the journalists' office in Essen. Joachim Schumacher is considered to be a chronicler of the Ruhr area landscape in his factual documentary presentation. His works are among other things in the collection of the Ruhr Museum .

He has lived in Gelsenkirchen since 2011 .
