life and work

Always striving to revive the Roussillon Catalan , his stories are based on extensive documentation and precise historical knowledge of the milieu in which they are set. His last book Els taxistes del tsar (The Tsar's Taxi Drivers ) is a family chronicle in which the figure of the grandfather and ancient Russia play an important role and in which he describes the contradictions that arise when one is between three Nations stands: the Russian, the French and the Catalan.

In addition to Catalan, Bezsonoff also advocates the Occitan language . Bezsonoff also taught at the Universitat Catalana d'Estiu (Summer University) in Prades . He writes regularly for the magazines El Periódico de Catalunya , El Temps and L'Avenç .
